Can I fix my own light switch safely without an electrician?

Fixing a light switch yourself is not considered safe. Electrical work can cause shock, fire, or code problems, so we recommend using a licensed electrician. Our Denver-area team diagnoses non-working switches, replaces faulty switches or dimmers, and checks the circuit and breaker for root causes. If you notice heat, buzzing, or a burning smell, stop using the switch and call. We serve Denver, Aurora, and Thornton.

Quick checks:

  • Try a known-good bulb or test the fixture.
  • Check and reset a tripped breaker.
  • Do not open the switch box.
